Mission

The Mary Jean Mather Charity for Women aims to assist women who could achieve important things in Addison County, Vermont and surrounding areas. Potential assistance encompass emotional, educational, professional, and economic struggles women face everyday. We seek to empower women in all aspects of their lives and hope to ease financial considerations while they are on that path.

The Board will seek applications from local charities, educational organizations, and nonprofits to identify where grants can go to deserving recipients and have their biggest positive impact. Some examples from the community include Women Safe, The Women's Center, Addison County Readers, and many more.

Women and girls make up half the world’s population. Yet, too often, their voices, experience, and contributions are overlooked or undervalued. Women are capable of anything they put their minds to. The Mary Jean Mather Charity for Women is working to create an equitable Vermont by helping women financially achieve professional and personal goals.
